quilting the crackle quilt

quilted
Oh, today was a nice, crafty day.  It is spring break in these parts, and today turned out to be one of those rare days when the kiddos all napped at the same time.  Well, 2 napped while the oldest read books in his bed for quiet time.  And I sat at my machine for awhile.

This morning I pulled out this quilt top, batting, and a couple coordinating prints.  I sewed the back, got everything ironed and ready to go.  Then during naptime, I basted and quilted.  Oh, it was wonderful.  I really enjoy this kind of quilting.  Man, I just really enjoyed sewing today in general.

Hopefully I'll get to work on the binding soon, I am thinking that the tiny red dot will be perfect.  I can't wait to sit down on the couch to handsew the binding down.  That is my favorite part. :)

  6. I'm so happy that someone else loves that final step of hand-sewing the binding (everyone usually complains so much about it)! I don't know what it is, but something about it just makes me feel all happy and warm fuzzy-y inside. Maybe it's the fact that you're doing something useful and beautiful while at the same time you're cuddling under a beautiful quilt in a comfy spot. Oh and the knowledge that you're almost done adds an extra *oomph* of delight. Love it!
